About the FR500C

Road racing at the grassroots level continues to grow in popularity and for Ford enthusiasts few vehicles make better race cars than Mustang. For those looking to compete in a multi-brand professional road racing series, Ford Racing can meet those needs with the Mustang FR500C.

Code-named 'Boy Racer', the FR500C is a turn-key race-ready car that is homologated for Grand Am's KONI Challenge Series. Ford Racing offers two ways to get a driver behind the wheel of this championship-winning car -- purchase one from your local Ford dealer or take advantage of a number of race ready parts available to the private builder.

With its 5.0L 'Cammer R50' engine, the FR500C has proved itself to be a race- and championship-winning car in KONI Challenge competition. Since its debut in 2005, the FR500C has earned nine pole positions, won 13 races, made 38 podium appearances 130 top-10 finishes, as well as both the 2005 and 2008 driver, team and manufacturer championships. With an average of 11 Mustangs on the grid at any given KONI race, the FR500C is the car of choice for those looking to get behind the wheel of a proven competitive vehicle.
