On the weekend of June 13th, 2008, Ford Racing invited select members of the media to partake in the Second Ford Racing Invitational, hosted at the Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan. The racers arrived on Friday to accept the keys to their randomly selected cars. The plan was to let the racers do some testing and allow them to get acclimated to their Ford Racing enhanced vehicles. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had plans of her own and the first day of testing was essentially a washout.
Saturday turned out to be a better day and the dry payment provided a better opportunity for the racers to try to put the power down and see what kind of times they could achieve. Since some of the attendees had never been lined up behind a Christmas tree, it was entertaining to see them cut their teeth at the light.
Below is the list of attendees and their associated rides. We've also included pictures of the action and the surrounding venue. You'll notice many puddles in the photos ~ just so you know we weren't kidding about the Friday washout.
